Searching for the Generous Life | Titus O'Bryant
• Titus O'Bryant • Series: Searching for the Good Life
Just like modest investments can grow over time, our investment into God's kingdom generates growth and produces eternal dividends. The apostle Paul presented the Macedonian believers as an example of generous giving to the Corinthian church and to us. Let's explore some of the reasons to grow in generosity together. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: 1. How do you feel when the topic of money comes up in conversation with a family member or spouse, a friend or colleague, or at church? What contributes to that feeling for you? What are some reasons it’s important to talk about money? 2. Read 2 Corinthians 8:1-15. If you can, read all of chapter 8 and chapter 9 for additional context. What do you notice about the example of the Macedonians in their generosity described in the passage? 3. How many principles about managing money and giving can you discern from 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 (and the expanded passage)? What are one or two principles you find encouraging or challenging or intend to practice? 4. What did you hear from the message that inspired you, gave you something to consider, or sparked disagreement? 5. How have you benefited from someone else’s generosity? What might your future look like and how could you influence others by becoming more generous? 6. What practical step do you intend to take regarding managing your money and growing in generosity?
