Have you ever done something with good intentions only for the best of your intentions to explode into fire and ash? That is why we all need to keep growing in wisdom. Life is complex. To live successfully, we want to master the ways that people think and communicate, the ways that life rocks and rolls, and the general principles that create predictable responses in most situations. We all want to discover discernment for navigating life and obtaining wisdom. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Read Proverbs 1:1-7. How would you articulate the purpose of the book and the first steps toward growing in wisdom? 2. What are some differences between “wise, foolish, and simple” people? 3. What did you hear this weekend that inspired you, challenged you, or sparked disagreement or further consideration? 4. Who are one or two people you would consider to be wise? What characteristics have you observed in them? What characteristics would you like to develop or enhance to become a wiser person? 5. Read James 3:13-18.
