When you think about wealth, money, and possessions what images or representations come to your mind? When the Apostle Paul asked for the Corinthian church to help struggling believers in Jerusalem, he reminded them of reasons to be generous and provided guidance for their giving. Realizing how God has freely given us good gifts can dramatically change our attitudes toward money and giving. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-15; and, if possible, the extended passage of 2 Corinthians 8:1-9:15. Imagine you are part of the church receiving this letter. What might you feel and how might you respond to this appeal? 2. How does this passage challenge or affirm your perspectives about wealth, possessions, and generosity? How does this passage connect principles of sowing and reaping to generosity and giving? 3. What did you hear this weekend that inspired you, challenged you, or sparked disagreement or further consideration? 4. What promises from God and results of giving can you identify in this passage? 5. What makes is our stewardship of our money, possessions, time, and gifts a significant part of our relationship with God? Why is our generosity and giving an important part of our spiritual growth? 6. Is there an action you want to explore or begin when it comes to managing your money?
