• Titus O'Bryant • Series: Mark's Gospel: The Way to Expand Influence
Jesus intentionally prepared his disciples to lead as he anticipated his death, resurrection, and ascension. He began this training process with two miracles designed to teach vital truths about expanding influence. Through Jesus’ actions and teaching, we can discover key principles to play our part in Jesus’ mission and give him freedom to work in our hearts. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: 1. Read Mark 6:32-56. What do you notice first and above everything else in these two miracle accounts? 2. Imagine that you are present for these two events. What do you see, hear, taste, smell, and feel? 3. What did you hear this weekend that inspired you, challenged you, or sparked disagreement or further consideration? 4. How did Jesus and the disciples respond differently to the crowds of people in verses 32-39? What might have been Jesus’ purpose with his command in verse 37? How would you have responded? 5. Consider verse 52. What did the disciples miss about miracle of the loaves because of their hardened hearts? 6. Quiet your mind and consider these two events again, placing yourself into the story. What message might Jesus have for you from this passage?
