Jesus and his disciples arrive on the other side and encounter a demon-possessed man. Jesus had demonstrated his power and quieted the sea, and now he will demonstrate His power over Satan. The ex-demoniac recognizing Jesus' love and care and having faith in Jesus over the issues of life and death demonstrates fearless faith in following Jesus as His disciple. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: 1. Read Mark 5:1-20. Jesus and his disciples are arriving at the shore. What event had just happened that should have helped the disciples, and us, trust in the power of Jesus? 2. What does it mean that Jesus can cast the demons out of that man? Please look at Col. 2:15 to understand why Jesus has power and authority over supernatural powers. 3. Describe the reason Jesus allowed the demons to enter the pigs. 4. Observe the faith of both the ex-demoniac and the disciples. What differences do you see?
