Our Sins | Titus O'Bryant

 • Titus O'Bryant • Series: The Lord's Prayer

Who has wounded you so deeply or so recently that you’re having a hard time forgiving? Maybe you know that you’ve mistreated someone and need to ask their forgiveness? Forgiveness is such a vital part of our relationships with God and with other people that Jesus included it in the prayer he taught us to pray. Many have observed that we’re never more like God than when we forgive; maybe that’s why we have such a hard time with it. This weekend at LifePoint, let’s explore how forgiveness is the best gift we can give someone else or to ourselves. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. Can you remember a time when you felt truly and fully forgiven? How would you describe that experience and how did you feel? 2. What did you hear this weekend that inspired you, challenged you, or sparked disagreement or further consideration? 3. Read the story Jesus told about forgiveness from Matthew 18:21-35. What message was Jesus communicating about forgiveness? How is Jesus an example to us in forgiving others? 4. How would you describe the connection between receiving forgiveness from God and offering forgiveness to others? How is our willingness and ability to forgive others a test of our faith and our love? 5. What is the difference between reconciliation and forgiveness? Is it possible to forgive someone without reconciling with them? 6. Has forgiveness been challenging or come easily for you? What can make forgiveness so difficult? Is there someone you need to forgive or ask to forgive you?
